Another fantastic run by Whatucallher on Tuesday at Fairyhouse, where she was unlucky not to win. She finished a very close second, despite missing the last hurdle, and perhaps the result would have been different had this not happened. She is turning into a really smart mare, and it is a shame that she has not managed to get her nose in front yet. She is maturing and progressing all the time, and we look forward to what the future holds for her. Here she is out in the paddock enjoying some grazing in the sunshine after another gallant effort.
Another unlucky in defeat was Lord Wimbourne (pictured below) at Dundalk last Friday night. Travelling strongly into the straight he and two others pulled away from the rest of the field to finish almost in a line, with only half a length splitting the three. It was a strong renewal of the race and the first three finishers look like smart horses. He has improved from run to run, and Mark Gallagher (who rode him) is confident it won’t be long before he is first past the post. He should improve again from the run.
