Apologies for the recent spell of inactivity, but glad to report we have had some really pleasing debut runs for the yard – in particular Clifftop Dancer and Not The Chablis.
The former, Clifftop Dancer, is a relatively new recruit for the yard. She is owned by the very enthusiastic Totters Syndicate, all bar one of whom were at the Curragh Racecourse to cheer her on on her debut run where she came a very encouraging 4th of 18 runners. Only beaten 2 lengths, and showing some signs of greenness, the whole team was thrilled with how she finished. She is a very sweet filly and we look forward to what could be a very fun horse for the future.
Not The Chablis, a gorgeous Scorpion gelding from last year’s Land Rover Sale made a very eye-catching start to his racing career coming 3rd in a strong Killarney Bumper. Ridden by Mark O’Hare he finished very strongly and will have learned a lot from the race. He improves with every piece of work and we look forward to the next move with him. He is a very fun horse to have around the yard as he loves his work and is a pleasure to have any dealings with.
Another promising debut run for the yard came from Harebell, a recruit from the Ralph Beckett yard in the UK. She finished 8th of 15 at the Curragh on ground that would not be ideally suited for her. It was a lovely introduction to racing in Ireland for her and we look forward to getting her back out on ground that she will enjoy. She is owned by Andy and Mary Sharkey who, previous to her, had the beautiful Dalmatia in training with us. Dalmatia had a glittering career in Mulgrave Lodge so Harebell has relatively big shoes to fill, but we are confident she will be another stalwart for the Sharkey/Harty combination.
Keep an eye out for the all-new Eddie Harty Racing Club, and be sure to get in touch if you have an interest in getting involved. We have some exiting horses to run for us and at a very affordable rate you, or someone deserving of a very special gift, could experience the thrill and excitement of Racehorse Ownership.
